The Process of Booking a Wedding Photographer

Booking a wedding photographer

To make bookings run smoothly, we use a defined system for how we handle inquiries. Here’s how we work through our conversation with you:

1. Inquiry

We receive inquiries every day by email, messaging and phone. Expect that others will be asking about the same date. I make it a priority to respond to any inquiry within an hour to start a conversation with you.

2. A quick chat

In my reply to your inquiry, I will suggest that we have a quick 10 minute chat to help us see if our style and personalities fit. If we are not yet booked for your date and everything feels great, I will suggest during that call that we set up a full consultation with you and your fiance(e).

3. Consult

There is no obligation to book during a consult. But it is important that all three of us have a chance to see how our personalities fit together. They happen either online or in our studio, take about 60 minutes, and we can usually schedule them within 24-48 hours of your initial inquiry. They are a time for us to talk about how you want your wedding photography to feel, your style, and what we offer. Together we will work up a couple of estimates for you. Expect that other consults for the date will continue during that time and that we will proceed with the first booking request that we receive.

4. Booking Request

When you tell me that you would like to hire us to photograph your wedding, I will send you a digital contract to review and sign. We will send the contract within a few business hours, and then your wedding date is held exclusive for 24 hours. If we are not signed in that time the date is re-opened to others that are interested. We do not notify previous consults that we have had a booking request, as we do not want to undermine the couple that has made the decision to move forward with us.

5. Deposit Pending

Once a contract is signed by both of you, we are deposit pending while we wait for your Booking Retainer. I will hold your date exclusive for three days during which you can call to provide a credit card number (Purchase Option 1) or call to provide a routing and checking account number (Purchase option 2 and 3). See payment options here: www.petergreenoweddings.com/payments

6. Booked

On receipt of your retainer, I will countersign your contract. At this point, I will notify other consults that we are booked for their date. You will receive a receipt along with a copy of the contract. We are now fully booked for your wedding date.

The entire process can take as little as 4 hours. Others need more time and take a month or two. It is entirely up to you and when you are ready to move forward. So if you are considering us for your wedding photography, start the process by checking out our bridal magazine.
